Charlotte & Noel

This remediation assignment required me to take my "Morphological Masterpieces" and recreate it in a new medium for a new audience with a new purpose. To do this, I decided to create a children's story book about two girls, one who is a ballerina and one who is a writer. The most challenging part about this piece was adapting the sophisicated, vivid imagery of the "Morpholigical Masterpieces" for a children's book containing much simpler diction and syntax. Given that my ideal audience would be children ages 4-10 years old, I had to change the overall structure of the orginal piece, create two new characters (Charlotte and Noel), and incorporate simpler vocabulary. In addition, I had to hand draw protypes for my characters and scan them into the computer. I included the image of the characters, Charlotte the writer and Noel the ballerina, as well as a collage to demonstrate the type of color schemes I would have included in the book had I had the appropriate tools and skills necessary to illustrate the entire book. Under the text on each page, I would have included a picture of the character reflecting the emotions described in the paragraph. While creating a story book may at first sound simple, this piece of writing was by far the most intensive piece I had to write for my Writing minor so far.
